About the Park
Mikumi was gazetted in 1964 and shares an unfenced border and a single ecosystem with Nyerere National Park to the south. Its heart is the Mkata Floodplain, open horizons framed by the Uluguru and Rubeho mountains, where wildlife gathers year-round within sight of the road.
